Rafoo Chakkar (1975) and Khel Khel Mein (1975) established her and Rishi Kapoor as popular on-screen couple, and they were cast in several more films together after that. The success of R.D. Amar Akbar Anthony, directed by renowned filmmaker Manmohan Desai, was Neetu Singh’s most successful 1977 release, in which she played a young doctor in love with a singer played by Rishi Kapoor. Desai also put her in the adventure film Dharam Veer opposite Jeetendra and the criminal drama Parvarish with Amitabh Bachchan the same year. All three of these films were among the year’s top five-grossing films, with Amar Akbar Anthony capturing the top slot.
Her most popular films were “Do Kaliyan” (1968), “Waris” (1969), and “Pavitra Paapi” (1970), among many others. Neetu and Rishi Kapoor fell in love both on and off the set.
