Shahid Kapoor is ready to return to OTT, but this time on Jio Cinema, following the success of his OTT debut web series, Farzi. The release of the highly anticipated Bloody Daddy trailer immediately caused a social media frenzy. Shahid plays a hero in the action film, directed by Tiger Zinda Hai alum Ali Abbas Zafar, who kills multiple drug dealers. Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, and Diana Penty can be seen in the action-packed trailer with them.
Bloody Daddy is a remake of the 2011 French film Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Night). The Indian adaptation, which is funded by Jio Studios, was written in collaboration with Siddharth-Garima. A similarly talented cast, which includes Diana Penty, Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy, and Rajeev Khandelwal in significant roles, will join the Bloody Shahid. Even trade show representatives approached us to ask for it, but we had really imagined Bloody Daddy on a web platform.
At the film’s premiere, Shahid Kapoor expressed his enjoyment of acting in the action scenes. “It was really enjoyable. I had a lot of fun making an action movie, and I loved working with Ali. He has a deep understanding of the genre. What do you do on the big screen if you’re doing something this huge on OTT, is the current conundrum. Thus, we must resolve that; still, it has been a blast.
The lead actor needs a passion for a job like this, so when our producer Sunir Kheterpal presented this script, I could only think of one actor who was unquestionably right for the part. And Shahid was the only person I could envision in this role. He has a terrific combination of being a star and an actor. His on-screen characters have more dynamism than he does.
