Abhishek Chaubey’s Opinion about “Killer Soup”

The primary obstacle I faced was actually establishing the narrative. As someone accustomed to working within the framework of feature films, adapting to a seven-hour story proved to be quite challenging. Initially, it felt overwhelming, but fortunately, I had the privilege of collaborating with an exceptional team. Anant Tripathi, Harshad Nalawade, and Unaiza Merchant approached me with this concept, having already made significant progress in its development. Subsequently, we dedicated two years to refining it together.

Typically, if I were crafting a film, the process would take approximately eight months to a year. However, this particular endeavor demanded over two years of concentrated effort. The most arduous aspect was ensuring the script was flawless.

What drew me to this story was its unique mood, tone, and flavor. Rarely do opportunities arise to amalgamate such diverse elements and successfully integrate them. Ultimately, the end result feels cohesive and integral to this world. It was an exhilarating experience.

I thoroughly enjoy experimenting with different moods and genres within the same film. I believe I possess a certain level of skill in accomplishing this. Some individuals have mentioned that it deviates from my previous work, but I disagree. In addition to being set in South India, where I have primarily focused on various aspects of North India and explored different dialects of Hindustani, the social environment portrayed in the film is also noteworthy. It revolves around the lives of upper-middle-class individuals who typically converse in English during their everyday interactions. Although I have not had much experience with such characters, it just so happened that circumstances led me to this particular universe, despite having easy access to it.

Konkona Sen’s Opinion about “Killer Soup”

I had no desire to witness it in terms of crimes, or to label it as good or bad. My sole intention was to portray her in the most convincing manner possible. I truly admired her unwavering self-confidence. No one else truly had faith in her abilities. (This exquisite equilibrium is ingrained in the screenplay’s narrative – it possesses a dark yet absurd and humorous quality.) She is an individual who has put in the effort. Certainly not her family. Perhaps her niece to some extent. In reality, her family tends to disregard her achievements.

I found it difficult to tolerate Prabhu. The reason behind Swati’s decision to marry him remains unknown to me. The way the Shetty brothers treated her was completely unacceptable in my eyes. However, I admire her unwavering determination. She possesses a strong sense of purpose. Her aspiration is to establish a restaurant, and despite the ups and downs in her personal life, this is her ultimate goal. It is worth mentioning that she is not particularly skilled in cooking. Swati has reached a point where she no longer desires to be married; her child is now older, and she wishes to pursue her own dreams. I believe that many women, myself included, can relate to this aspect of Swati’s character.

Manoj Bajpayee’s Opinion about “Killer Soup”

Manoj Bajpayee expressed, “In my entire career, I will be portraying two distinct roles that are completely contrasting. I had complete faith in Abhishek Chaubey’s exceptional directorial skills, Netflix as our collaborator, and an outstanding cast that brought the characters to life, resulting in a unique and captivating crime thriller. Killer Soup, at its core, combines various genres, creating a delectable experience that appeals to all.” Abhishek and I strived to capture the essence of every moment where Umesh transforms into Prabhakar, as Umesh is not a proficient actor.

He attempts to imitate but often fails, sometimes even limping with the wrong leg. Umesh tends to forget.” Additionally, the timbre and pronunciation of my voice must vary based on the character I am portraying. It provided a unique sense of enjoyment. However, the challenging aspect was determining when and how much to modify, and I would rely on Abhishek’s feedback to ensure it was adequate.

In conclusion, “Killer Soup” guarantees to be an adrenaline-inducing addition to the ever-growing collection of captivating Netflix TV series. This captivating web series explores the more sinister aspects of human behavior. Although not directly based on a true story, Killer Soup draws loose inspiration from real-life incidents. With its unique narrative and outstanding cast, the series promises an enthralling experience that will hold audiences spellbound from beginning to end.

So, prepare yourself for an immersive journey into the realm of “Killer Soup” – a show that is destined to make a lasting impact in the world of Indian Web Series.
