RDJ is back? || Is Tony Stark going to return to MCU?

RDJ is back? : Iron Man fans have never ceased expecting and praying for Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback to the big screen as the character.

The fan’s favourite superhero last appeared in “Avengers: Endgame,” as he used the Gauntlet with the Infinity Stones, snapped his fingers, and saved the world from Thanos. This noble gesture took its toll on his body, and he died instantly, leaving viewers in tears and sadness.

Then, earlier this month, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly that introducing the Quantum Realm opens up a world of possibilities.

“Not every film in the Infinity Saga focused on the Infinity Stones or Thanos, and Phase 5 and 6 will be the same.” But we are getting ready. “People will get a big taste of this in Quantomania as we lead up to Avengers: Secret Wars, which I’m very excited about,” Feige said.

He has been with Marvel for 23 years, which he describes as “a long time.” However, the 49-year-old remains “so excited and in love with the potential” of this fictitious universe.

“The storylines that weave together through Phase 5 and 6 into Secret Wars, as well as the opportunities that the multiverse brings storytelling-wise, it’s a whole new aspect to the MCU,” Feige added.

And obviously, this did not assist the already-circulating rumors about RDJ‘s return. Then Stephen Broussard, Marvel‘s VP of production and development as well as a member of the “Marvel Studios Parliament” that keeps the studio running smoothly, made a comment regarding Iron Man’s future, or lack thereof.

According to leaks, Secret Wars will be a gigantic Endgame-style conclusion to the Multiverse Saga. Marvel might have a variety of superheroes join the Avengers in their struggle against Kang. It would not simply be Iron Man resurrecting from the grave.

Robert Downey Jr. can easily return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Man at this point, but that is not the issue. Tony Stark, as the MCU’s first hero, was the franchise’s poster hero. Because he was the most significant figure in the Infinity Saga, his death in Avengers: Endgame signified the end of the MCU’s first storytelling chapter.

Aside from that, watching Iron Man‘s sacrificial play brilliantly illustrates Marvel Studios‘ knack for long-term character growth, given who he was when he debuted in 2008’s Iron Man.

While Iron Man‘s death in Avengers: Endgame made sense — both for the character’s personal journey and for the MCU as a whole – talk of his resurrection never truly died down. Almost four years after the conclusion of the Infinity Saga and Phase 5 into the Multiverse Saga, there is still debate on how, when, and why Downey can return as Iron Man.

Given everything that is going on in the franchise right now, there are probably multiple ways to bring back the brilliant, billionaire Avenger. However, that is not what is preventing Marvel Studios from doing so.

Marvel Studios has long proven that death does not always signify the end of a character’s journey. Granted, numerous characters perished and remained dead, but the MCU has made up for many big losses. Loki has cheated death far too often. Despite his violent execution in the Sacred Timeline, he remains a vital part of the Multiverse Saga as a variation due to the concept of the multiverse.

As the concept of alternate universes and timelines becomes a prominent narrative point in the MCU, Marvel Studios can utilise it to explain resurrecting Downey’s, Iron Man.

Following the multiversal route implies that Iron Man‘s version may reappear in either Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars. Apart from that, there are a few of other ways to see Stark in the MCU. Flashbacks are the simplest method to accomplish this, especially with projects like Armour Wars and Iron Heart, which will deeply go through his legacy. A cameo using Stark Tech from Captain America 3 is also a possibility, as is Binary Augmented Retro-Framing.

Although Marvel Studios has various options for reintroducing Downey’s Iron Man into the MCU, that isn’t the issue. Instead, it’s far too soon to see him, in any shape or form, in the MCU following his death in Avengers: Endgame. Following the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, Marvel Studios is still attempting to reconstruct the universe.

This means they must concentrate on nurturing their surviving characters to be the MCU’s next faces while also bringing in new blood with the advent of new players including Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk, among others.

Reintroducing the Avenger into the MCU could devalue his magnificent send-off. This is the worst thing Marvel Studios can do to the conclusion of the Infinity Saga because his death was its emotional center. Iron Man’s death, as horrible as it was, was important for Phase 4’s plot.

Certain narratives in the Multiverse Saga would not have worked without it. Wanda Vision would most certainly have fought over Vision’s body, making it impossible for SWORD to experiment on it. The anti-Peter Parker propaganda would not have worked in Spider Man: No Way Home.

RDJ is back?: When Can Marvel Studios Bring Back World’s Favourite Iron Man?

Because there is no formal rule that bans Downey from reprising his role as Tony Stark in the film, it will all be down to Marvel Studios’ storytelling. As previously stated, bringing him back in the Multiverse Saga is far too soon, but as the MCU’s plan extends until 2032, there are additional chances for his long-awaited return.

That way, there will be at least some time between his death and his next appearance. Iron Man’s legacy has molded the MCU’s Infinity Saga and beyond, so seeing him return will always be exciting. It is preferable to wait a little longer before he returns.

Other characters who have died or retired may appear in the film. Consider Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. We may also see characters from Fox’s X-Men universe and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU). In addition, rumors suggest that Spider-Verse characters may appear in the film.

According to rumors, Secret Invasion is so large that Marvel may have to split it into two parts.

With that in mind, Secret Wars appears to be the ideal setting for the return of Iron Man.

I’ve already stated that there are several ways to bring Tony Stark back. The simplest is to capture the superhero from the past, perhaps just before he perished in Endgame. The Avengers would still return him by the end of Secret Invasion so that he may complete his destiny.

Another intriguing idea is that Marvel will introduce a Tony Stark who is comparable to but not the same as the one we have grown to adore. A multiverse variant who may have a grudge against the Avengers. That is where Iron Man 4 comes in.

At this moment, an Iron Man 4 is doubtful. But keep in mind that RDJ’s great performance as Iron Man was vital in the MCU’s multibillion-dollar triumph. With the present dip, Marvel may always opt to bring RDJ back, regardless of his pay. He would get a fourth installment in the Iron Man saga, most likely after Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Marvel would be unable to keep this movie a secret. It would have to announce it beforehand, which would eliminate the element of surprise. The option is to never confirm RDJ’s reappearance in order to surprise people when he arrives in Secret Wars.

However, Marvel may disclose it in a deceitful manner. It may be marketed as something it is not. Perhaps a prequel to Black Widow. You will not know what kind of tale Iron Man 4 is until you see it in theatres.

Imagine Tony Stark waking up next to Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) and telling her, “I dreamed I beat Thanos, but I still died.” You know, once more.” Then she would comfort him by telling him that the Avengers had defeated Thanos (Josh Brolin). That he had placed a suit of armor all around the earth, and his mission was over. He pledged to give up his own armor.

The camera pans out, and it’s clear that this isn’t Earth-616. Moments afterward, the alarm goes off, and a Jarvis-voiced Ultron (Paul Bettany) notifies Stark that the Illuminati compound has been attacked and that his presence is urgently required.

Tony suits up in his Superior Iron Man costume, only to see live footage of his pals being brutally murdered by Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen).

Iron Man 4 would be a direct response to Doctor Stranger’s actions in the Multiverse of Madness.

The Tony Stark of Earth-838 is the Tony Stark I want to see in Iron Man 4. A character who had not reached the same level of superhero maturity as Earth-616 Tony. A character who embarks on a vast mission to find Wanda and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to avenge the Illuminati.

This path would lead Tony-838 on a journey that could culminate in an attack on Earth-616. After all, intrusions are unavoidable, and these two realities will inevitably collide before the Kang Dynasty and Infinity War.

Then, after he realises how serious the Kang threat is, we would have this Iron Man redeem himself by joining the Earth-616 Avengers.

However, the same has not been officially announced by Marvel Studios.
